Beware the Ides of March! Oh wait, too late for that. We had answers on that day. So I guess they weren't so bad, really. Fun, even. We didn't kill anyone or anything. A bacon and chocolate cupcake from my local cupcake bakery:
I was really excited to try this flavor combo but it kind of fell flat for me - the buttercream was too thick and the bacon pieces inside the cupcake felt like eating paper. There also wasn't any salty flavor to cut the sweetness like I expected. I think I'm going to try my hand at making cupcakes or some baked good with bacon soon.

One of my best friends is a photography student, and her assignment last weekend was to take photos of food. While all of her classmates went to photograph fancy meals at restaurants, she called me up instead and asked me to whip up something pretty. I ended up making these...I used Magnolia's vanilla cupcake recipe and made chocolate, pomegranate, and green tea frosting. We put wildflowers on top for the pictures, although those were definitely not edible :P
